(Airdate: August 7, 2026) The RETURN! This week on County Connections co-hosts Jim Burke and County Commissioner Greg Brothers welcomed County Administrator Josh Peters. They discuss Tuesday’s primary and the Parks & Recreation Levy Lid Lift which though still “unofficial” appears to be passing with over 60% approval. The outro musc is a local band who just released an EP – Abracadabra Trip ‘Something New” the song ‘MADISON SQUARE GARDEN.” Josh is the drummer ( locally) for Abracadabra Trip and Laura Newman the songwriter and lead vocalist.

Each month, KPTZ’s Chris Bricker joins co-host Siobhan Canty, President and CEO of Jefferson Community Foundation to explore new developments and paradigms with our vibrant communities of creative and innovative citizens who do good work. Our focus today is on the community of Brinnon.  Brinnon is a small, scenic community located here in Jefferson County, situated on the western shore of Hood Canal. Brinnon had a population of 907 at the 2020 census and is known for its quiet, rural atmosphere and abundant access to Olympic Peninsula outdoor recreation as well as a gateway to our National Park. Well, a lot has happened since that 2020 census, and here to tell us about it are Andrew Schwartz, Executive Director of the North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce, and Robert Gash, community organizer and member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.
